lots of birthdays

May is one big month at our house full of cake, ice cream, and presents.
First Lexi's birthday, then Mia's 1/2 birthday, then Porter's birthday, then Brenner's birthday. And this year we are adding a new little birthday when the baby is born.

Because I will be in the hospital on Brenner's birthday we celebrated a few days early.
He was so cute.  I can't believe he is 6!

He was so excited he woke up at 4am.  Yikes!
Not much we could do to make him go back to sleep.
It made for a LONG day.

So he opened presents at 8am.
Lucky kids to get to have Grandma T here for their birthdays!

What he mostly wanted was $$$
so he opened a few things from the other kids.

He wanted a gumball machine cake.

looks like everyone is concentrating hard on singing happy birthday while he blows out the candles...

he wanted to cut the cake and serve to everyone...

and then with all his birthday money Daddy took him to buy an electric scooter.
Lucky boy!!!
We are thankful for these last 6 years with you Brenner
and the energy you bring to our family.
We LOVE you!!!

The next day was Porter's 10th birthday.
We woke up to a balloon and crepe paper volleyball tournament.

After breakfast Porter opened his presents.
Again he just wanted money, money, money.

Porter is great at saving his money.  He said the best part of his birthday was when I took him to the bank in the afternoon and he got to deposit it in his savings account.  Cute boy.

I took Porter and Lexi on a few other errands in the afternoon, my last with my pregnant belly, we went to the library and they each checked out some books, and we went to Panera bread for cinnamon rolls and smoothies.

After Pizza Hut for dinner we had Porter's ice cream cake with homemade fudge sauce and whipping cream.

Happy happy 10th birthday dear Porter!
We LOVE you so much!

mia's 1/2 birthday and last day of school

We have so many May birthdays in our family.  It's been hard for Kyler, whose birthday is in August, because every May he starts thinking about what he wants for his birthday and it seems so far away.  Mia is old enough this year to understand birthdays mean presents and cake, and she's been wondering when her birthday is.  November is ages away.  Luckily her 1/2 birthday is in May, so we celebrated with a purple crown, and usually I make a small treat on half birthdays, but when I asked her what treat she wanted she said a purple lolli pop!  Cute thing.  She was SO excited about it.
She wore her purple crown all day (for dayS actually) and was purple from head to toe.
It was the last day of school so we went outside to wait for the kids to come home and she drew a hopscotch and a picture of Mommy and Daddy.  I LOVE her drawings so much.  She likes drawing with chalk more than on paper, so I have to take pictures of these cute drawings on the driveway because we don't have many on paper I can save.

She LOVES to climb in this little tree in the front yard.
It's the perfect size for her.

And I about died at the cuteness of her hopscotch.  Cutest thing EVER!

How I love this little sweetheart.
I'm so happy she will have a little sister soon.
She is going to be the BEST big sister.
Although I still think of her as my baby.

And then the kids came home.  Last day, hooray!

Poor Lexi, in tears, so sad the year is over.
It was a great year.

At the last Falcon Fest assembly this morning Porter got 2 awards for an invention he made in Enrichment class.  Yay Porter!

And Kyler coming home from a friend's house after school.

Feeling tough to now be a mighty 7th grader!

harmony high

The 5th grade did the end of the year musical.  She was SO excited for it, she had been practicing the songs for a few weeks at home and it was all she could talk about.  Each class was assigned a different theme, Lexi's class were 'nerds' so she matched her best friend, Chloe, and wore nerdy glasses and red suspenders.  The songs were so upbeat and fun, and Lexi had a solo!  She did so great.  We were SO proud of her!

first swim of the season

Debbie's family was out of town but said we could swim at their house the Saturday before school was out. It was only in the 70's so it was a little chilly but the kids still had fun.  Lexi brought her friend, Meredith Austin, and our whole car sang the songs from Frozen on the drive over.  So fun.
