Sisters

I love these pictures of Lexi and Mia after their baths in their jammies. Lexi loves holding Malia and is a great little babysitter for me. Malia's hair is curly after it gets wet and then dries sticking out. I love my kiddos all scrubbed ready for bed! And I love my two sweet girls.

Christmas 2010

We have had a wonderful Christmas! Here is a quick recap of some of the fun.

The Museum of Idaho - gingerbread houses, Santa figures, and Nativities from around the world, with Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt Emily and cousin Lincoln. So fun!

Robinson Family Christmas Party - Prime Rib! Kids dressed up for the Nativity, a white elephant gift exchange, and a visit from Santa! (Thanks Perry, Bev, Brett and Kara!)I thought this was a funny picture of Porter the Leaping WiseMan and Kyler as a lamb with a Santa hat! Funny boys!
Brenner wanted nothing to do with Santa! Why do we traumatize our poor children at Christmas time! haha!

The kids really enjoy making homemade gifts for each other! I love that they feel the joy of giving. They really look forward to sharing them on Christmas Eve and get so excited to make each other happy. Lexi made us a homemade calendar and painted milk jugs into piggy-banks, Porter painted snowflake ornaments for each of us, and Kyler made everyone (with the help of Grandpa T, a HUGE thanks Dad!) a marshmallow shooter out of PVC pipe! A huge hit all afternoon!

Christmas Eve - After Dave pulled the kids in sleds behind the 4-wheeler we played "Jungle Jive" (thanks Em!), watched "Polar Express," sprinkled reindeer food out on the road, ate 'Christmas crepes,' opened new PJ's, made sugar cookies for Santa, talked about the Nativity story from the scriptures, then tucked them all snug in their beds.

Christmas Morning! 5:30am! We told them to go back to bed until 7:00. Yeah right! They managed to make it until 6:00am and then the FUN began! Spent the morning testing out all the new toys and playing games together. One of my favorite mornings of the year!

Christmas afternoon was spent with both of our families, we opened more gifts, and we were so lucky to get two delicious dinners! It was such a nice day.
It has truly been a wonderful holiday. We hope all of your Christmas's were merry and full of the light and love of our Savior!

Gingerbread Houses

I don't have time to rearrange these pictures tonight so they're out of order, but this is one Christmas tradition that the kids really look forward to. They were so funny. The frosting was a little runny and I was out of more powdered sugar so we had lots of drips which made for lots of laughs. Porter ended up pouring his remaining frosting on top of his house because there was a 'blizzard'. Poor Kyler's house fell apart and so he entertained himself and the rest of us by seeing where else he could stick the candy. Brenner followed suit, of course. Oh the joys of boys! Lexi did a great job and Malia slept through it all. It made a huge mess! Lots of Christmas fun!

Reindeer Cookies

We made Reindeer Cookies on Sunday afternoon. Peanut butter cookies, pretzels, chocolate chips, gumdrops (we ran out of red ones so Rudolph had purple and green noses too). They all turned out cute and the ones Brenner made made me smile!

More Pictures of Miss Mia

It is crazy how 3 1/2 weeks can pass by in the blink of an eye but seem like a lifetime at the same time! Since we brought Malia home from the hospital our life has been full of adjustments and joy. She is so fun, we all love her so much, and I love the feeling of peace her sweet little spirit has brought into our home.

Adjusting to life with 5 kids... Wowsers! I feel like we have utter chaos most of the time. Hopefully we can gain a little more order, control and sanity around here! Someday!

Here are a few pictures of Malia. She still sleeps most of the time and one of my favorite things is how she giggles in her sleep. It's adorable and shows her cute little dimple. What else could she be dreaming about but happy memories from heaven? I love the thoughts of that. She also smiled this week a few times. She looks right into my eyes and smiles. Talk about melt my heart! And her little eyes twinkle. We hold her most of the day, I'm just as guilty as the kids at wanting to hold her every minute! There is just something about a newborn that makes you want to snuggle them and not put them down. At her doctor appointment yesterday she weighed 8 lbs 11 oz, so she's gained almost a pound since she was born. Good job Miss Malia!

3 weeks old:

The first day we were all home together after coming home from the hospital I was a little worried that Malia was going to survive having an older 2 year old brother. Every part of her was poked and pinched every time I blinked! He even tried to get her out of bed by himself! Yikes! But after explaining over and over to him that first day that he needed to be careful and soft and kind he's doing much better. He loves to hold her and asks please please if he can hold her ALL the time. As most of you know, we had a very hard time deciding on her name. For the few months before she was born we called her different names. Brenner still calls her 'Olivia' and 'Ava' which always makes me smile. To remind him I ask him, "What's the baby's name?" and then he'll say, "Ma-leee-yah." I love how he says it. So cute! He sure loves her.

Malia's belly button finally came off this week so she had her first bath. She liked the warm water, and the kids loved helping!

I love her froofy hair. It's so fluffy after it's washed and I'm not quite sure what to do with it!

All the kids adore her, Lexi especially. She loves helping pick out Mia's clothes every day. She finally has a sister! And I love having 2 so I can say, 'My girlS.' I've always wanted that!

I can't believe Christmas is coming so soon! This season has definitely been more tender to my heart having a new baby and pondering the sweet story of Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. I haven't been able to do all the rushing around and fun activities that I like to do with my kids at Christmas time this year, but in a way it's been really nice to simplify. I'm grateful we have one more week to enjoy and soak in the wonderful spirit of this time of year. Here we are in all our impromptu glory. We had to take advantage of an extra set of hands to hold the camera! But I post it because it's our first photo at home of our family of 7!Merry Christmas!
