Kyler's Fun Week

Kyler had a lot going on in his cute little life last week. First off, we celebrated his 1/2 birthday with a 1/2 crown and a 1/2 birthday cake. I'm on a health-kick right now so it was a "healthy" spice cake, with no sugar, etc. It tasted pretty good and Kyler didn't know the difference. Since it was healthy-"er" I didn't feel so bad when he ate 3 pieces!

He started Junior Jazz Basketball and loves it. It's a cute program where they go once a week and rotate between different stations... defense, offense, dribbling and shooting. It's a lot of fun to go watch.

He was the star in his "All About Me" week at school and got to take a poster to tell his class all about himself. He picked out which pictures he wanted on it and then wrote his name, cut it out and glued it to the top. He was being silly for these pictures and thought it was a hoot to hold the poster every which way but straight for me. We got a good laugh from it.

It was also the last day of ski school last Wednesday (Feb. 18) and they had ski races. It was really fun to go watch and Kyler did great speeding down the hill around the flags. Go Kyler!

Lexi, Porter and Dave also got a little skiing in.Porter didn't have skiis so Dave tried every which way going down the bunny hill with him... Porter standing on the front of Dave's skiis, on the back, in Dave's arms, etc. Can you see Porter behind Dave's legs? It was so funny, I wish I had gotten a better picture!Porter also had a blast running down the bunny hill and riding back up the magic carpet.

And look at these cute babies in their matching bear suits, blue coats and all! We loved seeing them dressed just the same to endure their older siblings winter adventures. They're just a few weeks apart and it's so fun to see them doing the same things. I'm excited for them to be cute little friends. Plus we love their family!
Anyway, to wrap things up, Kyler is such a good good boy. We love him so much in our family! I love being a mom and watching my kids in all the fun things they do. This really is my favorite time of my life!

New Discoveries...

This little guy loves drinking from a sippy cup. His big blue eyes melt my heart. Yes, he's spoiled. When he looks at me I can't help but pick him up. I give him whatever he wants!
I was washing his hands and face after breakfast and somehow his foot ended up in the sink. So since his pajamas were wet anyways I plopped him down in the sink to see what he would do. He loved it! I love how babies are always so curious checking everything out.His giggles are contagious. Are there many things in life better than a baby's giggle? Love it! Then he leaned over to check out the drain and the shower spray drenched his hair but it didn't bother him a bit.So fun to see their innocent joy at discovering something new.
I love that sweet little dirty face!

Happy Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's Day celebration is going to be low-key this year. We've caught the bad flu-bug that is going around and poor Lexi has been out of school all week. She was sad to miss her Valentine Party at school but was happy when a sweet little friend brought her Valentine's home for her. She also felt pretty special that Daddy brought her home a beautiful pink rose just for her today.

Porter loved his first Valentine's Day Party at Preschool and all the loot.
Kyler came home with every single piece of candy eaten! I about died. That kid! His poor body on sugar overload! He also had a birthday party after school and got that fun Hulk-goo he has on his forehead. He would only pause for one photo before he was off running around again in his wired state.
And Brenner was cute with all the fun Valentine-filled envelopes we got in the mail. He loves to hold things up for us to see. The more we laughed the more he waved them around. Thanks everyone for all the great Valentines!

We made Valentine sugar cookies last weekend. Love those!
This was last week trying to get a Valentine picture to send to grandparents.
I absolutely love Valentine's Day. Isn't it so fun to have a day to celebrate people we love? I honestly and truly feel like the luckiest person in the world to have my wonderful husband and my 4 sweet kids. They are my greatest joy and I love them with all my heart. Hope you all have a happy Valentine's day!

For Real?

This morning after putting Brenner down for his nap I came out to the kitchen to see all the dishes unloaded from the dishwasher and stacked neatly on the counter. Porter loves to unload the dishwasher. Except this morning the dishwasher hadn't been turned on yet so all the dishes were dirty. Porter was so proud of himself that I almost didn't have the heart to tell him. But I ended up showing him the leftover spaghetti sauce from last night's dinner stuck to some of the plates to explain how we have to check and make sure they're clean before we take them out and put them away. What a little sweetheart. He really is a good little helper while the other kids are at school and I appreciate him a lot.

A couple weeks ago I had some errands to do so I dropped Porter off at my Mom's. He was helping her with some chores and when she told him he was a good helper he said, "I'm trying to be like Nephi." That's right sweet-boy, prophets are the best kind of heroes. Keep it up!

And today he looked up at me and asked, "Is it lunchtime yet Mom?" I said almost and he said, "All I want for lunch is spinach."

What? Spinach? Seriously? Who kidnapped the real Porter?!

Snowman Show

Our snowmen turned to ice and were rock solid so I looked out the window one day and saw my boys climbing on them. It was quite funny. Porter did his best but couldn't quite make it up on top. After Porter got down to play in the snow Kyler put on quite the show for me. It was a hoot! I was laughing so hard. This sweet boy amazes me.

My favorite picture is this last one of him balancing on the snowman's head. He really is quite the little acrobat! I know I could never do what he is able to do. And the whole time he had a cute smile. I sure love this boy!

Lexi's Haircut...

Lexi has been begging me for months to cut her hair. She wanted shorter hair like all the girls in her kindergarten class (yikes, is it starting already?) Because she has some natural curl I was worried that if it was shorter it would be even curlier, so I kept coming up with excuses. Last week she finally begged enough so I gave in and started chopping. It definitely requires talent to cut hair... I learned my lesson!

I can do the clipper thing on my boys' hair but long hair is a different story. I don't think I'll try it again, ever. It kept getting shorter and shorter and was still uneven when I made myself stop. She loved it anyway, so happy to have it shorter, little sweetheart.
She did look cute with shorter hair but the haircut itself looked awful. So her sweet Aunt Ashley came to the rescue. I think it turned out ADORABLE! It's a testimony that good things can come out of disasters! Thanks Ash! You're a life saver. She absolutely LOVES it! It's been really fun that her hair has a style.

She LOVES her new do! Isn't it amazing how a new haircut always makes them grow before your eyes? My sweet Lexi. Love you Lou-Lou!
