So in the Spirit of Thanksgiving we made our Thankful Tree last week for Family Home Evening. It was really fun. The kids were bitten by the thankful bug and could not stop thinking of and writing down their blessings (...it could be that bedtime was looming so they wanted to keep going, but we'll think it was that their little hearts were overflowing with gratitude)! We kept writing for an hour and it was so fun to hear the blessings they were thankful for... big things like Family, Church, and the Book of Mormon, down to every day things like numbers, candy, and bugs. They were so sweet to each other and we were all feeling a wonderful Spirit in our home as we thought of our very many blessings.
It's nice to walk past and see all those blessings up on the wall and we'll keep adding leaves to our tree until Thanksgiving Day. And then of course I'll save those cute little leaves with their handwriting in page protectors for future years when I miss those little hands writing what was in these tender young hearts.

I have to show this Thanksgiving Advent Calendar I made because I am so excited about it! (Lots of inspiration from
Here,
here and
Here.) It was a lot of hours of cutting out pieces of felt and gluing and sewing them together but was very fun to make, my kids love it and I love it and we're excited to use it year after year with
This Idea in each pocket. I've also seen where you can put these 30 thankful activities in a jar
here and do one each day. Cute!

I think a fun thing to take Visiting Teaching this time of year is a
Harvest Blessing Mix, easy to throw together and it looks cute in bags with a bow!

I also want to share our new favorite
whole-wheat bread recipe. It can be made in just a little over
ONE HOUR from start to finish! It is wonderful and fast and works everytime. I double it to get 4 loaves, and we always eat one whole loaf as soon as it is out of the oven. Mmmm! Dave comments over and over how good it is every time I make it, so it is definitely a keeper and my favorite bread recipe yet.

One more thing, I've been trying to make more time to read and I love it. I take it in little snatches when I can, mostly after the kids are in bed instead of finishing the laundry, but I look forward to it all day. I just finished this book, "These Is My Words, diary of Sarah Agnes Prine 1881-1901" and it was really good. If any of you have read a good book lately I would love to hear!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
