I think Halloween is such a fun time of year. The kids had a great time at their class parties and came home so excited to tell me about the games they played and what treats they got. We had fun at the school's Spook-fest Carnival on Friday night too. I really appreciate my kids wanting to wear their costumes from last year, it made it so much easier for me to only have to apply a little eye-shadow and eye-liner stitches to make them spooky. Kyler, Lexi, and Porter all said their very favorite part of Halloween was the Trick-or-Treating. We started at my Grandma's house and then walked up and down the streets with cousin Lincoln and a few friends and enjoyed seeing lots of people from our ward. The kids ate it up. Brenner is so fun this year because he understands for the first time more of what is going on. He was especially thrilled that he could walk up to any door and say "Trick-or-Treat" and they would give him candy. The first few houses he would run back and show us and count it, "5-7-8!" He couldn't believe how much candy he got in his pumpkin bucket. It was so cute. Dave and I walked (I waddled) along with them and I was hoping I would go into labor (just kidding, I know it's still too soon). It was a fun night! Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!
Pumpkin-Carving-Night is always a much looked forward to night at our house! Our 3 older kids are pros at this and pretty much have it down. We didn't have to help them too much this year which was fabulous! They had a great time carving away. Brenner, on the other hand, was hilarious! It was all new to him and he thought it was gross! He was very concerned when he first opened the lid on his pumpkin and saw what was inside. His faces were cracking us all up and he just could not help gagging a time or too which made us all laugh! After that he was content to sit back and just watch. It really was too funny. The pumpkins turned out great, and one of our favorite things is toasting the seeds. My kids love how they taste like popcorn!
Dave's Mom planned a fun Halloween party again this year and we had a great time at it this afternoon. I love Dave's family, it's always a treat to see them. Kyler was at a birthday party most of the time but I picked him up at the end so he still got to see a few cousins. The apple-bobbing and mummy-wrap games are always a hit, and especially the fish pond this year! And Uncle Dan cracked us all up with his Whoopie Cushion costume! Thanks, Grandma Bev, and everyone, for a fun afternoon!
Okay... I got a new camera for my birthday a few weeks ago and I have had fun taking LOTS of pictures. I'm trying to figure out how to use it and the different settings, etc, so I take tons of pictures every chance I get.
I'll start with today when we picked up our 4-wheeler. We haven't had it for a few months and the kids were so excited to hop on for a ride. We let Kyler drive the kids around, he did a great job being responsible. They had a blast, even though it was FREEZING and raining. I know every mom loves their kids, and I sure love mine. They're such good kids and I'm thankful for them. I loved when they drove by and Brenner flashed me a thumbs up. 4-wheeling is one of his favorite things ever. I love how he was hanging on to Kyler the whole time.
